SONIVIS:Video is part of the Exhibition "Expedition Future"
Since April 2009 the exhibition train “Expedition Future” is traveling through Germany. The train stops at 60 stations within the next eight months. Interactive exhibits, interesting background information, and fascinating pictures are shown in order to tangibly communicate visitors the trends in science and perspectives until the year 2020.
Each of the train wagons is dedicated to one research topic. Within wagon no. 5 the topic “Networked and Global” is explained. The exhibit in this wagon shows the increasing influence of digital networking on the development of science itself. Furthermore, different software tools are demonstrated which deal with the analysis and visualization of virtual social networks. One of the shown applications is SONIVIS.
