Installing the Eclipse IDE

  1. Download and install Eclipse for RCP/Plug-in Developers: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
  2. Install the following Eclipse plugins via given update sites (From the menu, choose HelpSoftware UpdatesFind and Install...Search for New Features to Install. Then, select New remote site for every plugin and copy'n'paste the name and the given url:
    1. CheckStyle: http://eclipse-cs.sourceforge.net/update
    2. Coverlipse: http://coverlipse.sf.net/update
    3. SubClipse: http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.2.x (the optional "Integrations" Part is not required, simply choose Subclipse Plugin when selecting what to install)
    4. CodeBeamer connector for Mylyn: http://cbconnector.javaforge.com/update/2.1 (please include Europa Discovery Site) - The latest version of CBConnector (2.1) is not compatible with Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede) so either downgrade your Eclipse version or wait for a compatible version of CBConnector.
    5. Graphical Editing Framework - GEF (in some cases it might be necessary to manually install GEF, normally it's installed per default): http://download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/updates/releases/
